ALLGRAND’s VRLA (valve-regulated lead-acid) products use an AGM (absorbed glass mat) technology. This means that AGM mat is applied to separate the positive and negative plates, and absorb the electrolyte immobilization with the AGM separator that continues to maintain firm contact between the plates. This is a key requirement for VRLA batteries to work at maximum efficiency. The use of the AGM mat as a separator allows for the easier transfer of the oxygen gas (evolved at the positive plate during charge) to the negative plate, this is then reconnected with the hydrogen which creates water and prevents any water loss.
